GIVEMORE MANATSA says he owes his success to his late father who died two years ago.
The legendary Zex Manatsa died on January 20, 2022, in Harare after his battle against cancer.
He was 78.
While his other siblings – Green, Tendai, Freedom and Aaron – have made it in showbiz as instrumentalists, Givemore is building his empire as a master of ceremonies.
“This year marks exactly two years, on January 20th, since the departure of a man who made me be on this earth, the late Zimbabwe’s music giant, Zex Manatsa.
“I know that he is smiling at me wherever he is now.
“Gone but not forgotten.
“Myself, being on this planet, is the biggest treasure that he left me. I will always be grateful for that, nothing more, nothing less.”
He added:
“Humility is the key to success, no matter where you go, or who you meet, you have to remain modest and people will uplift you.
“Also, do not forget those who aided you to see the peak of the mountain, you shall still need them on your way down.
“My late grandmother used to tell me not to compare the sun and the moon, for both shine when their respective time arrives.
‘Thus, I have respect for any other MC/Director of Ceremonies out there. He/she is unique in his/her way and so is me.
“I am on a mission, not a competition, mine is a journey of destiny, a fulfilment of what the heavens opened up for me on the very day that I breathed for the first time.
“What is meant for me will definitely come my way and that which never comes my way was not entitled to my name.”
Unveiling his plans for the first quarter, Givemore said:
“The first quarter of the year is a very crucial one in the sense that our first anniversary as Givemore Manatsa Events falls in that circle.
“The brand came into life in 2023, on the 10th of February, to be more precise.
“The year 2023 was a memorable one for me and my brand.
“I managed to grace some huge events as a director of ceremonies, some of which included presiding at the late Dynamos football legend, George Shaya’s son’s wedding, co-hosting veteran music producer and guitarist, Clive Mono Mukundu’s 53rd birthday celebrations, which coincided with his album launch, Monosophy.
“I presided over the reggae band Transit Crew front-man Cello Culture’s 33rd birthday.”
