ZEZANI High School is set to become the centre of schools football excellence when it hosts the Matabeleland South National Association of Secondary School Heads (Nash) Provincial Soccer Tournament from July 7 to 9, 2026.

The prestigious annual competition will bring together some of the province’s most talented young footballers, with teams battling for top honours in the Under-20 girls’ and Under-17 boys’ categories.
The tournament is expected to attract schools from across Matabeleland South province, providing a platform for emerging talent to showcase their skills while competing for provincial supremacy and potential qualification to national competitions.

Hosting the tournament represents a significant milestone for Zezani High School, which has steadily built a reputation for supporting sporting excellence alongside academic achievement. The three-day event is expected to create a vibrant atmosphere, with pupils, teachers, sports administrators and local football enthusiasts converging on the Beitbridge-based institution.

School sports competitions under the Nash banner have long been recognised as a vital breeding ground for Zimbabwean sporting talent, with several national team players having honed their skills through schools competitions before progressing to professional and international levels.

The Matabeleland South provincial tournament is also expected to strengthen sporting ties among schools while promoting discipline, teamwork and healthy competition among learners.
With preparations now in full swing, organisers are optimistic of delivering a successful and competitive tournament that will highlight the depth of football talent within the province.

As the countdown to July begins, all eyes will be on Zezani High School as the institution prepares to host one of Matabeleland South’s biggest schools football showcases of the year.@FungaiMuderere
