SUNGURA musician, Freddy “Biggaz” Zhakata, is happy with the way his music has been embraced by fans.

The nephew of sungura musician, Leonard Zhakata, told H-Metro that his recent single has been getting a lot of airplay.

“Last year, I released two single tracks.

“Of those two, ‘Anondigonera,’ has been getting airplay since January.

“It is a love song so I guess that is the reason why people are appreciating it a lot because they can relate to it,” he said.

Despite facing numerous challenges, Biggaz said he will not throw in the towel.

“I started singing in 2018.

“Over the past years, I have managed to release two albums namely ‘Bhora Mberi’ and ‘Iniwo Zvangu.’

“In addition to the two albums are the two singles,” said Biggaz.

He added:

“We are a band of two people and I work with different people here and there to make music.

“Right now we are working on videos for the two singles.”

Biggaz drew his inspiration to become a musician from family.

“I grew up singing at school.

“I also grew up in a family of people that love singing a whole lot.

“I can safely say that most of my inspiration comes from my uncle Leonard Zhakata,”.

Asked what his lifelong dream was, Biggaz said it is fame.

“I always pray that  one day I will become the kind of musician my uncle is.

“I love music a lot and I believe my music can help and reach out to a lot of people,” he told H-Metro.
