LEONARD Zhakata-inspired and local-based musician, Clayton Masekesa has bounced back in the music scene with a new love song, Kuzipa Kwerudo.
The song is about a love-struck person who has been searching for true love for a long time and when that person finally finds and tastes what love is all about, he or she testifies how exciting love can be.
The single, which is already gaining fair airplay on various radio stations, was officially released last week on Friday.
It was produced by talented producer, Joseph Makiwa, and recorded at JM Records in Mutare.
Makiwa, who is improving with time like wine after weaning himself from Blessing Shumba’s studios, exhibited his mastery in music production through the superb mixing and marvelous sound quality on the single.
ln an interview with Post Entertainment early this week, Masekesa, who is backed by The Eastern Stars Band, said he is elated and overwhelmed with the response the danceable single has received, especially in watering holes.
“I am a happy person as we speak. I feel it is a great achievement to release this single.
“I want to thank my producer, Makiwa, for a job well done. We took our time to come up with this project.
“It is now up to the fans to judge the music.
“Let me take this opportunity to thank my fans, they mean a lot to me. I appreciate their unwavering support. They are my energiser, they give me the zeal to continue with music.
“From my previous works, the fans have been very awesome indeed,” said Masekesa.
“I have taken the single off from an album that I will release in December. Many fans were clamouring for my new songs, so I decided to quench their thirsts and desires with this single.
“It is a song that gives a lovely testimony from a person who has been drowned in deep and memorable love escapades,” he said.
Masekesa last released a plug single track, Simba Rekurarama, in 2021.
The track was highly successful in musical charts.
The song dominated charts on Diamond FM, National FM and Classic 263.
The new track is likely to become a force to reckon with.
