the polls.
The elections were scheduled for this Saturday in Gweru but the ZHF and the Sports Commission had a meeting yesterday at the latter’s offices and the elections were postponed.

The local handball federation president, Amon Madzvamuse, said the decision was reached after the commission looked at their constitution.
“Our constitution has been looked at and it says we should have a special AGM before the election with the executive in all the 10 provinces. At the AGM that’s when we will come up with the date for the election.

“The meeting is on the 24th of September but there won’t be elections,” said Madzvamuse, who urged all the provinces to attend the meeting as several issues will be discussed .
“We are urging chairpersons from all provinces to come. We are going to have the Sports Commission in the meeting to guide us, we have written to them to come. Some of the issues that were raised by the commission are that we should check on the internet for the International Handball Federation constitution and try to adopt the same.
“We are hoping that we will have the election after October”
