ZHF polls postponed again

that they should register their constitution first before the polls are conducted.
The directive to stop the elections came from the Sports Commission’s board.
The handball mother body met with the Sports Commission on Saturday.

ZHF had slated the elections for last Saturday but the Sports Commission ordered that they amend the constitution they submitted early this year before the elections can go ahead.
The ZHF had hoped to hold the elections while the constitution was being registered.
ZHF president, Amon Madzvamuse said they could not come up with a date for the elections, as they have to finish the registration process first.

“Nothing much materialised because the Sports Commission are saying we should get our constitution registered first.
“We have done our part as the ZHF, some of the issues are minor and I think they should just give us the go-ahead. We are sort of losing the drive,” said Madzvamuse.
Madzvamuse said they were going to submit the constitution to the Sports Commission today.

“We are still in compliance with the SRC and we are still in the pipeline.
“We amended most of the things and we are to submit it to the Commission on Tuesday (today).
“They will give it back to us and see if there are any amendments that need to be done again,” said Madzvamuse.

Sports Commission sport development manager, Angela Nyaundi, said they were with the ZHF to complete exercise.
“We directed them to have the meeting but without one item which is the elections until they have polished their constitution and have it approved by the (Sports Commission) board.

“We gave them the guidelines because there were some issues they needed to work on.
“For example the powers of the secretary general were mixed with the powers of the president.

“They are putting their input and we are meeting them tomorrow (today) and we will go through the document together.
“We hope we finish that process and submit the constitution to the commission board on Thursday who will look at it and prepare to submit it to the main board before the end of October. The board said they cannot go ahead with the elections until they have completed the registration process,” said Nyaundi.
