THE Zimbabwe Football Association on Tuesday confirmed that all outstanding allowances for the Mighty Warriors have been settled.
The payments, which include daily camp allowances and contractually agreed fees, were deposited over the weekend as the team concluded the campaign at the 2025 COSAFA Women’s Championship.
The announcement follows reports suggesting a rift between the association and the players.
Allegations had surfaced that ZIFA was attempting to withhold payments, purportedly arguing that a US$2,700 per-player bonus provided by the government last week should cover the association’s own financial obligations.
The government grant was handed over by the Deputy Minister of Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture, Emily Jesaya, as a performance incentive.
ZIFA Vice President Loveness Mukura, currently in South Africa for a COSAFA capacity-building workshop, firmly dismissed claims of none payment of allowances.
“I can confirm that the Mighty Warriors have been given their money as initially agreed.
“The funds began reflecting in their accounts over the weekend, fulfilling our commitment to the squad,” said Mukura.
