Zifa names U17 provisional squad for Cosafa U-17 Qualifier

ZIMBABWE Football Association (ZIFA) has announced a 25-member provisional squad for the TotalEnergies Caf Under-17 Africa Cup of Nations: Cosafa Qualifiers scheduled for Harare from September 11-20.

The team will be under the tutelage of former Bulawayo Chiefs head coach Thulani “Thuts” Sibanda who will be assisted by Backylfied Chivenga. Players were drawn from clubs across the country with some, foreign based.

The Young Warriors have been holding camp at Eaglesvale School in Harare.

Eleven teams will compete at the qualifiers which Zimbabwe will be hosting for the first time. The other 10 countries are Mozambique, Comoros, Eswatini, Zambia, South Africa, Madagascar, Malawi, Angola, Botswana, Mauritius and Lesotho.

Teams are expected to start arriving on Saturday.
