ZIFA have announced that their CEO Yvonne Manwa and Finance Manager, Vusimuzi Nyamazana, will attend a FIFA Governance Workshop in Accra, Ghana, from tomorrow to February 1.
The workshop aims to enhance the governance and administrative capabilities of football associations worldwide.
ZIFA’s participation underscores their commitment to adopting best global practices in football administration and their dedication to continuous improvement and professional development.
“The workshop provides an invaluable opportunity to exchange knowledge, learn from other associations, and reinforce ZIFA’s commitment to good governance.
“We are confident that the insights gained will positively impact the administration of football in Zimbabwe,” said ZIFA.
The workshop is expected to equip the ZIFA officials with the necessary tools and expertise to strengthen the association’s governance framework, ensuring the long-term growth and sustainability of Zimbabwean football.
ZIFA expressed their gratitude to FIFA for organising the workshop and are looking forward to implementing the recommendations and outcomes that will emerge from the event.
The new ZIFA leadership swept into office on Saturday when Nqobile Magwizi was elected the new president of the association.
Magwizi was a runaway winner after capturing 61 of the 72 valid votes which were cast.
Even the spoiled vote by a Triangle representative, who was guilty of violating rules that phones were not allowed in the ballot box, had also gone in favour of Magwizi.
He will be helped by a board, which includes a number of youthful administrators, who are all 40 years of age, and include business executive Tafadzwa Benza and businessman Brighton “PanJap” Ushendibaba.
