ZIFA President Nqobile Magwizi has officially launched Dream2030, a long-term football development strategy aimed at building a strong national team.
Launching the initiative during the Munhumutapa Cup draw in Harare this morning, Magwizi said Zimbabwe must move away from relying on chance and invest across all areas of the game.
“We need to come to a place where we stop relying on chance and prepare for everything we do,” he said.
Magwizi said the strategy will focus on investing in players, coaches, referees, administrators and other key stakeholders to strengthen football structures while fostering a culture of accountability and pride.
“We are going to invest in our players, coaches, referees, administrators and everyone who makes football work,” said the ZIFA president.
He said Dream2030 is already taking shape through existing initiatives such as the Roots Impact Programme, which targets grassroots football development, and the Munhumutapa Challenge Cup, which he said will provide clubs with more competitive matches that will expand opportunities for players.
“The Munhumutapa Challenge Cup will give our clubs more meaningful football, create more opportunities for our players and strengthen the game across the country,” Magwizi said.
