Zifa readies for AGM

ZIFA is gearing up for its annual general meeting on October 18 in Harare, with 60 councillors representing various leagues and institutions expected to attend.

The PSL is providing 18 delegates, while the Northern, Southern, Central and Eastern Region Division One Leagues will have four representatives each.

Each provincial league, four Area Zones, Zimbabwe Women Soccer League, National Association of Primary Heads (Naph) National Association of Secondary Heads (Nash), National Association of Tertiary Institutions Leagues, Beach Football, and Futsal leagues will each provide one or two representatives.

The Zifa Normalisation Committee, Sports and Recreation Commission, Zimbabwe Olympic Committee (ZOC), and auditors will also be present.

Zifa general secretary, Yvonne Mapika Manwa, reminded delegates to submit delegates’ names and passport-size photos before August 31, and proposals and questions before September 17 in line with Article 27(1) of Zifa Statutes.

The Zifa activity report and financial statement will be among the official documents dispatched on 18th September as per Article 27.

The Normalisation Committee led by Lincoln Mutasa, representatives of the SRC and Recreation Commission representative, and Zimbabwe Olympic Committee (ZOC) representatives will also be in attendance.

“In accordance with the current Zifa statutes (Article 27) a notice is hereby given to all Zifa Members of an Annual General Meeting (AGM). The Annual General Meeting will be held in Harare, on the 18th of October 2024. According to Article 24, the members will exercise their voting rights through their official delegates who will also take part in debates of the AGM.

“Each official delegate has a single vote and may not represent more than one member. Also present will be the Zifa Normalisation Committee members, secretariat staff, Sports and Recreation Commission representative, Zimbabwe Olympic Committee representative and Auditors representatives.

“Each member is humbly requested to submit names and passport-size photos of their delegates to the secretariat on or before 31st of August 2024,” Yvonne Mapika Manwa, the Zifa General Secretary said in a notice.

She said proposals and questions should be presented to her office on or before September 17 in accordance with Article 27(1) of Zifa Statutes.

“As per Article 27 of the Zifa Statutes, all relevant official documents to be used at the AGM will be dispatched to all members on September 18.

“The documents shall include copy of agenda, minutes of previous meeting, Zifa activity report and Zifa financial statement,” said Mwana.
