ZIFA ruling a “nullity”, says Rushwaya

The tribunal led by Labour Court judge Custom Kachambwa, and including lawyer Vimbai Nyemba and independent arbitrator George Nasho Wilson, yesterday recommended to the Zifa board, through their ruling, that Rushwaya should be dismissed after being found guilty on the majority of the charges levelled against her.

The Zifa board is now expected to deliberate on the ruling at their emergency meeting in Harare on Friday, which will precede a Zifa Assembly extraordinary indaba the following day. But the Rushwaya camp maintained through her lawyer Selby Hwacha yesterday that the ruling to dismiss her was a “nullity’’ insisting that the Ministry of Labour, who will hear the case this morning, was the “legally constituted body to deal with the matter’’.

Zifa lawyer Ralph Maganga, however, revealed that the Kachambwa committee had handed down their judgment verbally yesterday with the full text of the ruling now expected to be released today.-The Herald
