Zifa Southern Region meets on Saturday

This is the first time it is being held outside Bulawayo.
Brian Moyo, the Zifa Southern Region secretary-general, said all stakeholders had been notified about the event.

“Our annual general meeting is on this weekend in Hwange. As a board it has always been our desire to cover the whole region and that is why we are taking this meeting to Hwange. Actually we were supposed to have held our last mid-season general meeting there but due to some logistical problems we failed.
“All our affiliates and stakeholders have been notified about the meeting taking place in Hwange,” Moyo said.

All Zifa Southern Region Division One clubs from Bulawayo, Hwange and Tsholotsho will attend the meeting.
There will be no Victoria Falls representatives at the meeting as Zambezi Lions and Sao Paulo were relegated last season while Kujatana Victoria Falls United disbanded.
Two clubs from Hwange, Project and Rufaro Rovers, were promoted from the Zifa Matabeleland North Division Two Province.

They join ZPC Hwange, Mpumalanga United, Power Cosmos and Hwange Under-20 from the coal-mining town.
Tsholotsho Pirates and Sizani Fruits and Veg won promotion from the Bulawayo Metropolitan Province.
Zimbabwe Saints, who were relegated from the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League, will attend the meeting.

Railstars, Bantu Rovers, How Mine, Ntabazinduna Prison, Black Boots, Emakhandeni Pirates and New West City are the Bulawayo clubs that are in the Zifa Southern Region.
Acting Zifa Southern Region chairman Morgan Dube will present the chairman’s report with treasurer Tawanda Ruzive also submitting his.

Dube is expected to brief the clubs on the withdrawal of sponsorship by Buscod Supermarkets.
The league management failed to reach a deal with Buscod whom they were hoping to tie down before the end of last season.

The treasurer’s report is likely to touch on the issue of affiliation. Ruzive could not be drawn into revealing whether they would make any adjustments on the affiliation fees.
Affiliation fees last season were pegged at $2 600 for new clubs while those that were in the league paid $2 400.
“It is not proper for affiliates to get to know about their fees in the Press before I brief them officially. I will be in a better position to comment on the financial matters after the annual general meeting,” Ruzive said.
