ZiFM Stereo producer and presenter Wonderful Kamundaya was laid to rest yesterday at his family home in Chegutu. Wonderful, who was 37, succumbed to kidney failure on Saturday afternoon at the Harare Central Hospital. His sister Angeline Kamundaya said his death was bolt from the blue.
“My brother’s death is a great loss for us and came as a shock because before he got admitted in hospital last week Wednesday he was fit,” she said.
He is survived by his wife and a six-year-old daughter.
ZiFM station manager Peggy Mvududu said they have lost a valuable team member.
“We are saddened by his death because he was doing special programmes for us and it is going to be difficult to find another person who can replace him.
“He was a dedicated man and had a strong understanding of our culture but God has done his will,” she said.
Wonderful was a former policeman who joined National FM as a presenter. He later moved to Radio Zimbabwe before joining ZiFM in 2012.
He did his secondary education at St Francis High School and studied Bachelor of Arts (Media Studies) with Zimbabwe Open University.
