ZIMBABWE A batsmen came to the party as they won the second warm-up game against Afghanistan at the Bulawayo Athletic Club by seven wickets with 12 balls to spare.The visitors had lost the toss and were sent to bat setting a target of 268 after losing seven wickets.

Three Zimbabwe A batsmen hit half centuries with Richmund Mutumbami getting 73, Regis Chakabva scoring 72 and Timycen Maruma 63 runs.

Walter Chawaguta, the Zimbabwe A coach was happy with the way his batsmen responded after going down  by 16 runs in the first warm-up match on Sunday.

“It was a pleasing performance as we came right in batting particularly from quality partnership from Regis Chakabva and Richmund Mutumbami.

“We still have some  minor issues that we need to work on in our bowling,” said Chawaguta.

Luke Jongwe claimed three wickets at an  economy rate of 7,4 runs per over.

Neville Wadziva while taking two wickets conceded 22 runs in eight overs.

Afghanistan will face Zimbabwe in their first One Day International at Queens Sports Club on Friday.
