ZIMBABWE has been named one of the world’s best countries to visit in 2025 by global travel platform Kayak, cementing its place as a top-tier destination for travellers seeking a balance of adventure and relaxation.
This prestigious recognition comes at an opportune time as the country prepares to host the highly anticipated Sanganai/Hlanganani World Tourism Expo 2025 in Mutare, which is starting today.
The event is expected to draw thousands of local and international tourism stakeholders, showcasing Zimbabwe’s full potential as a global travel destination.
The expo also aligns with the Government’s Vision 2030, which aims to promote Zimbabwe as a hub for sustainable tourism and development.
The ranking, courtesy of Kayak’s latest Travel Check-In report, highlights destinations that offer wellness escapes, city-hopping potential, and opportunities for slow, low-intensity travel.
Zimbabwe’s unique combination of wild beauty, rich history and diverse landscapes has placed it firmly on the global tourism map for those seeking unforgettable experiences.
The country is a treasure trove of natural wonders and cultural heritage.
From the iconic stone walls of Great Zimbabwe, which stand as a testament to centuries of ancient civilisation, to the thundering majesty of Victoria Falls, the country offers a rich tapestry of attractions.
At Victoria Falls, the mighty Zambezi River crashes down with such force that it creates a mist often caught in fleeting rainbows.
Meanwhile, the serene Eastern Highlands offer misty mountains, winding trails, and a tranquil escape for those yearning for peace and rejuvenation.
Travel experts have also noted a surge in interest in Zimbabwe’s urban centres.
Flight searches to Bulawayo have jumped by over 80 percent on Kayak, while Harare has seen a 56 percent rise in summer travel interest.
These figures show the growing appeal of Zimbabwe as a destination that blends cultural vibrancy with natural splendour.
Zimbabwe’s inclusion on Kayak’s prestigious list places it alongside Morocco, the only other African country to feature in the ranking.
Morocco is celebrated for its blend of desert magic, mountain drama, and vibrant city life.
However, Zimbabwe’s unique offerings, including its breathtaking natural beauty, rich cultural heritage, and unmatched hospitality, set it apart as a must-visit destination for 2025.
