ALL is set for the Confederation of Zimbabwe Industries (CZI) regional Zim-Asset review workshop in Bulawayo today. An official from the CZI Bulawayo office said all was in place for the workshop. “The workshop will be held at the Holiday Inn and stakeholders from the public and private sector are expected to attend.”
CZI members and Industry and Commerce Minister Mike Bimha will be present to discuss and find ways of implementing the Zim-Asset to revive industry and the economy at large.
“We are expecting stakeholders from all sectors and we are looking forward to seeing the Minister of Industry and Commerce being part of the workshop.”
The industrial lobby group said the workshop was also open to everyone because the Zim-Asset policy was for every citizen.
“The seminar targets everyone and we are urging people to attend so that we discuss the policy to see how best it can be implemented in reviving our economy.”
In a statement, CZI said the objective of the seminar was to engage the private and public sector on the implementation of Zim-Asset.
“The objective of the seminar is to engage in a public-private dialogue on the current policy instruments and agree jointly on monitoring policy implementation period specifically focusing on Zim-Asset,” said the industrial body.
The aim of the seminar was to establish the level of correspondence between the Zim-Asset and the expectations of the private sector.
“We will try to establish the level of congruence between Zim-Asset and the expectations of the private sector and find ways of addressing any disparities between these,” said CZI.
The industrial lobby group said they would derive priority policy engagement for the private sector and the National Business Agenda.
