THE Research Council of Zimbabwe has been commended for crafting a strategic plan that is aligned to government’s economic policy, the Zimbabwe Agenda for Sustainable Socio-Economic Transformation.
Speaking at a consultative workshop for the RCZ yesterday, Deputy Chief Secretary for Economic Research and Policy in the Office of the President and Cabinet, Retired Colonel Christian Katsande said Zim Asset took cognisant of the importance of scientific research and development.
“I commend the RCZ for coming up in record time with this strategic plan that has taken into account the Zim Asset and is results-based management compliant. In terms of the Research Council Act, the RCZ is mandated to direct and promote public domain research,” Rtd Col Katsande said.
He said Zim Asset’s goal was to have an empowered society and growing economy.
