A 30-member delegation from the Zimbabwe Chamber of SMEs is in India to attend the Saurashtra Vepar Udyog Mahamandal (SVUM) 2025 International Trade Fair that kicked off on Tuesday.
The delegation is seeking to leverage on technology transfer from other countries and is scouting for potential international markets for locally produced goods, including dried fruits.
ZimChamber of SMEs national secretary Mr Kurauone Venancio is leading the delegation.
Mr Venancio said they will sign several MoUs with international organisations for collaboration in producing goods that meet international standards.
He said India has a vibrant SMEs sector, adding that Zimbabwe can get game-changing lessons from the Asian economic giant.
The ZimChamber of SMEs is also exploring the possibility of importing a sugar mill with the capacity to process 600 000 tonnes of cane daily.
“The mill will be stationed in Mkwasine Estates, Chiredzi. Farmers in the area are currently transporting their cane about 52km to the nearest sugar mill,” said Mr Venancio.
Plans are also afoot to import small mills to manufacture juice in Chiredzi.
