GOSPEL musicians Mathias Mhere and Sabastian Magacha recently released a gospel dancehall song titled ‘Ngatipemberere’. The song which was produced by Oskid is a dedication to the Apostolic Faith Mission’s 100th anniversary. The track has since made it into the Star FM Gospel Greats Top Five.

“The song ‘Ngatipemberere’ is a celebration of my church (AFM)’s 100th anniversary and I penned it praising and saluting our church leaders whom God have used to led the church.

“It was not easy but through divine wisdom they managed, that is why I was saying sando kumadhara,” Mhere explained. Last year, the ‘Favour’ hit maker also recorded another dancehall track titled “Wenyasha Ungamudii” which featured dancehall star Killer T.

“As artists we have to be versatile in order to resonate well with our audience. We wanted young people to relate well with the song,” he said. “The three of us (Mhere, Magacha and Oskid) belong to the AFM church and we thought of celebrating the anniversary this way.

Magacha also spoke on the need to collaborate across genres to reach wider audiences.

Fungisai Zvakavapano Mashavave has also collaborated with Killer T in the song ‘Daidzai Vakuru’.
