South African-based Zimbabwean reggae crooner Blessing “Ras Bledz” Makiwa has released a video titled “Bvuma-Low”, which has received rave reviews from fans across the globe on YouTube .
Some people have compared the musician to Jamaican singer Jah Cure.
Ras Bledz teamed up with Hillbrow-based producer Trust Bvochora and songstress Nozithelo “Black Rose” Mandebvu to come up with the love song recorded on the groovy heart and soul riddim from Jamaica.

The video was shot in Johannesburg and features quality visuals and choreography.
Without giving too much away, the clip depicts a love-struck guy who does all he can to woo the girl of his dreams.

Born in 1980 in Harare’s Glen Norah suburb, Ras Bledz attended Ruvheneko Primary School and Glen Norah 1 High School before going to South Africa where he currently works as a fitter and turner.

“I never really gave music 100 percent attention until my friends who heard me sing at functions around Johannesburg urged me to take up the art seriously.

“They felt I was wasting a talent and encouraged me to be serious about music,” said the soft-spoken musician.
Other songs to look forward to on his upcoming album include “Wakanakisa” featuring Snagga Bounty and Trinta which was produced by Spider, “Huya Tidzokerane” produced by GT Beats & Daddy Ish on the Ice and Roses Riddim, and “Tichidanana” featuring Trinta which was produced by Johannesburg-based producer Black Identity.

Ras Bledz believes Zimbabwean dancehall has come of age and gives respect to Winky D, Sniper Storm and Guspy Warrior for taking it to greater heights.

“Personally, I was inspired by groups like Honey Vibes and Transit Crew but now we can boast of so many dancehall artistes in Zimbabwe who are even household names in South Africa.

“This shows that people are now taking dancehall music seriously and now I urge my brothers and sisters to invest more in quality video productions if they to penetrate the international market.”

Ras Bledz said he is working on videos for two of his songs and fans should expect them on the market in the next few weeks.
He is looking forward to holding shows in Zimbabwe over the festive season as he plans to market his music and build a fan base at home.
