THE Zimbabwe Golf Association have named a 10-member Region V amateur golf team that will face players from 11 other nations at Chapman from April 8-13.
The team includes the leading order of merit players after the MAWEGU Open Championships in Chegutu last week.
Top amateur David Amm, who is sitting on 260 points, got the first slot and so did Tafadzwa Nyamukondiwa who took part in the All-Africa Junior Championships in Morocco last week.
Professional golfer Simon Murungweni is the team coach and believes they have started their preparations well.
The annual Region V Golf Tournament, which was previously known as the Zone VI Championships, was last held in Kitwe, Zambia, last year.
Liberty Gumisa who has since turned professional was team captain last year.
Amm is now one of the most senior players and will be fresh from representing Zimbabwe at the All Africa Junior Championships.
Nyamukondiwa, Arnold Burasho, Tafara Mpofu, Tatenda Makunde, Rasheed Mohammed, Thompson Masiya, Promise Sumburero, Conrad Makoto and Cosmas Siyakobo make the team.
The team has already started camp and are playing at Chapman under the watchful eye of Murungweni.
