Zim golf team places fourth

Pretoria, South Africa, at the weekend.
Regional powerhouse South Africa won the event for a record fourth time.
The South Africans won the inaugural event at the Phakalane Golf Estate in Botswana in 2007, lifted the title at the Nkonyeni Course in Swaziland in 2009 and won it at Royal Harare in 2011.

This year South Africa amassed 266 points to win the event.
Swaziland were runners-up on 313 points while Namibia were third on 316 points.
Zimbabwe were fourth on 321 points.

Regional All-Africa Challenge Trophy events are held biennially in West Africa, Southern Africa, North Africa and East/Central Africa and are financially supported by the Royal and Ancient of St Andrews.
Tilowakuti showed her touch as she came out sixth in the individual event.

South Africa’s Magda Kruger won the individual event, Bianca Theron was second with Lara Weinstein completing the top three.

Tilowakuti had rounds of 79 and 76 to finish tied with Namibia’s Jessica Dreesbiemdieke.
Meanwhile, Ryan Cairns finished tied on fourth place at the Zambia Open to pocket R43 176 at the Lusaka Golf Club at the weekend. The Zimbabwean had an impressive last round of four-under-par 69 to come out tied with South Africans Anthony Michael, Titch Moore, Desne van den Bergh and Doug McGuigan.
