BANGKOK. — Zimbabwe beat Scotland by three wickets to secure third place in the International Cricket Council Women’s World Twenty20 Qualifier Trophy play-off at the Thailand Cricket Ground in Bangkok on Saturday.
The win was thanks mainly to an inspired all-round performance from skipper Chipo Mugeri who took two wickets for 17 runs in four overs and then scored 47 runs not out off 59 balls, to guide Zimbabwe home. In the process, she earned herself the player of the match award.
Mugeri was helped in the chase by number three Pellagia Mujaji, who was the second top-scorer for Zimbabwe with 18 runs from 34 balls before she was caught by Abbi Aitken off the bowling of Kari Anderson.— ZimCricket.
