Zim, Indonesia sign MoU on agriculture

The MoU was signed recently in Indonesia and focuses on estate crops, horticulture, livestock, machinery, agribusiness management, food processing and seed industries among other areas. Agriculture Mechanisation and Irrigation Development Minister Joseph Made signed on Zimbabwe’s behalf while his counterpart, Dr Ir Suswono signed for Indonesia.
The two countries will conduct joint research and training, skills exchange and technology transfer. Research institutions will also co-operate under the Mou.
Minister Made said, “It is President Mugabe’s wish, interest and drive that agriculture be lifted to scientific methods although we should not lose beneficial traditional practices. Our endeavour is to continue development of human resources of agriculturists in all forms. Of particular note is the modernisation of the agro-processing sector.”
