FOLLOWING an impressive performance by Zimbabwe’s juniors at the inaugural Bonaqua ATU Triathlon Junior African Cup, national coach Pam Fulton has said it’s a positive indicator of the progress they have made. Zimbabwe’s Matthew Denslow won the junior men title and Mikayla Colegrave clinched silver in the junior women on Saturday at the Troutbeck Resort, in Nyanga.
With Zimbabwe’s sole representative in the Bonaqua Troutbeck ATU Triathlon African Cup, Gideon Benade, find the going tough in the elite men, the hosts had something to brighten up their day with the juniors doing well.
Benade was the last one to cross the finish line from the 17 participants that completed the race.
South Africa’s Nicholas Quenet withdrew from the race due to an injury while his fellow countryman Matthew Greer did not start.
