Zim Ninja Academy ready for ICO World Champs

THE Zim Ninja Academy is set to field nine participants at the International Combat Organisation (ICO) World Championships running from Wednesday to Sunday in Wales.

The event takes off with the official opening ceremony on Wednesday and competition begins on Thursday.

The team made up of mainly young athletes, will be led by seasoned martial artist Wilfred Mashaya, and is expected to leave for Wales on Wednesday and arrive on Thursday as the competition starts.

Mashaya will be joined by Thandeka Moyo, Dean Gwatah, Takudzwa Chizema, Arnold Mudzengerere, Anotida Hove, Anenyasha Hove, Wilfred Jnr Mashaya and Brian Jnr Mupindu.

They had hoped to field a 20-member team but because of limited resources, they are now set to field nine athletes.
