THE country is set for a major celebration of achievement as the National Excellence Hall of Fame enters its next phase.
Organisers said the event, scheduled for May 2 at Rainbow Towers, will be bigger and more prestigious than the previous ceremony, held at the Harare International Conference Centre (HICC) on March 14, which was attended by the Honourable Minister of Education, Professor Torerai Moyo.
“The Legends of Legends initiative honours the masters in their fields who have shaped today’s top achievers. It is about recognising excellence, preserving history, and inspiring the next generation of African leaders,” said Christopher Samkange.
The elite group spans sectors including healthcare, engineering, business, agriculture and mining, representing some of the most influential and accomplished individuals in Zimbabwe.
Organisers said the Hall of Fame will also host international guests from South Africa and Botswana, highlighting the regional significance of the event.
“It will feature a red-carpet reception, fine wines, and an exclusive guest list, offering an evening of recognition and glamour. The public is invited to submit nominations for individuals who qualify as a ‘Legend of Legends,” Samkange added.
“Self-nominations must be supported by testimonials to ensure nominees meet the highest standards of achievement. This is more than just an awards ceremony.
“It is a sacred preservation of African history, a celebration of greatness, and a testament to the power of human achievement.”
