MANCHESTER. – Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro boosted Manchester United’s Champions League dreams with a 3-1 win over top-five rivals Aston Villa.
Fernandes broke the club record for the most assists in a single season when he set up Casemiro and Matheus Cunha either side of Ross Barkley’s equaliser.
Vintage Casemiro
It was Casemiro who opened the scoring for United today as he got his seventh league goal which is his best return for a goal scoring season.
The 34-year-old still has been showing his class even though he may be out the door at the end of the season.
He’s definitely leaving a mark on the United fans.
Brilliant Bruno
Bruno Fernandes added two more assists to his tally today taking himself to 16 league assists.
He made history as he overtook David Beckham’s tally in a single season and becomes United’s highest ever assister in a Premier league season.
He is only five assists away from breaking the record in the league – will he do it!?
Carrick-ter shown
Man Utd again showed great character today after disappointingly losing their last game to Newcastle with a man advantage.
After a subpar first half, United came out flying and were rewarded.
They march on and will be six clear of sixth regardless of the Liverpool result today because of Chelsea’s slip up on Saturday. – The Sun
