THE countdown to Zimbabwe’s premier mining, engineering, and transport expo, Mine Entra, scheduled for 8 to 10 October 2025, has begun, with the Buyers Programme set to take centre stage

Mine Entra is one of the most prominent events on Zimbabwe’s business calendar, catalysing strategic partnerships and business growth.

Running under the theme, “Beyond Extraction: Sustaining the Future of Mining,” the event is being held at Zimbabwe International Conference and Exhibition Smart City (ZICES), popularly known as the Trade Fair in Bulawayo.

Now in its second year, the Buyers Programme, hailed as a game-changer by exhibitors and industry leaders at Mine Entra 2024, is already generating excitement, with exhibitors actively enquiring about participation.

Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) Company marketing and corporate communications manager, Mr Thandolwenkosi Nkomo, said the forum would once again feature structured speed networking sessions and targeted meetings between procurement teams from mining houses and exhibiting companies, to facilitate stronger business linkages and high-quality engagements.

“As we count down to Mine Entra, we are excited by the prospect of an even more impactful Buyers program. Last year’s success has set a high bar, and we are building on that momentum,” said Mr Nkomo.

“We realise that networking and matchmaking are vital to the growth and sustainability of the mining industry, and through this platform, we believe these networking interactions will help unlock investment, drive innovation, and ensure that procurement needs are matched with the right solutions.”

The buyers programme brings together procurement personnel and decision makers from the mining, engineering, and transport sectors.

During the programme, suppliers of goods and services gain exclusive opportunities to interact with procurement teams and make sales pitches.

The ZITF Company is currently finalising the list of buyers who will be participating in this year’s buyers’ programme, and companies interested in registering their procurement teams for this year’s program are invited to contact the ZITF Company.

Meanwhile, Mr Nkomo said to date, 173 exhibitors have confirmed their participation, representing the width and breadth of the mining, engineering, transport, construction, and related value chains.

This includes international exhibitors from South Africa and China.

“The exhibitor tally continues to rise daily as new bookings come in,” said Mr Nkomo.

“Last year we had 289 exhibitors, which was a great improvement from 2023. We are aiming to match last year’s number of exhibitors, and we will definitely be thrilled to exceed this target.”

Mine Entra is the most respected and professional mining expo in Zimbabwe and one of the largest in the Southern African region.

As such, it offers a unique opportunity to showcase productivity solutions and efficient services to an engaged and captive audience.

Now in its 27th year running, the expo has built a solid reputation as a vital business and networking platform, bringing together key players in the mining, engineering, and transport sectors to meet their marketing needs.

ZITF runs the expo in partnership with the Ministry of Mines and Mining Development, Chamber of Mines Zimbabwe, and Zimbabwe School of Mines.
