ZIMBABWE Cricket women’s emerging side recorded their fourth win at the ongoing Kwibuka Women’s T20 International tournament yesterday.
They beat Botswana.
The emerging side put up a dominant display, cruising to a 70-run win against their southern Africa neighbours.
After being put to bat first, Zimbabwe posted a total of 139 runs in 19 overs.
Beloved Biza continued with her fine run of form at the tournament.
Kelis Ndlovhu also played a big part.
Biza was the best Zimbabwe batter with 31 runs off 26 balls while Ndlovhu came second with 25 runs off 14 balls.
For the first time at the tournament Zimbabwe were bowled out.
Ndlovhu was the first to be dismissed at the start of the fourth over when she was caught out by Laura Mophakedi off a Amantle Mokgotlhe delivery.
An over later, Christina Mutasa returned to the pavilion after she was bowled out by Tuelo Shadrack.
Zimbabwe lost their third wicket in the seventh over when Runyararo Pasipanodya was run out.
Having passed the 90-run mark, midway through the innings, Zimbabwe lost their fourth wicket from another run out.
This marked the start of a collapse as they lost three wickets inside two overs before going to lose three more wickets in three overs.
Zimbabwe were bowled out inside 19 overs after posting a competitive score of 139.
The Zimbabwe bowling attack claimed four wickets inside the opening five overs.
Botswana were to be bowled out for 69 inside 19 overs.
Loryn Phiri bagged five wickets while Ndlovhu claimed two wickets in four overs.
