FOUR Zimbabwean referees will be in charge when South African giants Orlando Pirates clash with Uganda Revenue Authority in a Caf Confederation Cup match in Johannesburg this weekend.
Ruzive Ruzive will be the man at the centre and he will be assisted by Tapfumaneyi Mutengwa and Matabeleland South-based secondary school teacher Salani Ncube.
In a list published by the Confederation of African Football, Thabani Bamala will be the fourth official.
Angolan Matheus Joel Amadhila will be the match commissioner as Caf continues to show confidence in local match officials.
Zimbabwean referees were involved in the preliminary round of African club competitions last month.
However, they have come short as they are often overlooked in the later stages of such competitions as the Caf Confederation Cup and the Champions League.
The local match officials have not been to the finals of major international tournaments. Last year assistant referee Ncube was among the top students at a workshop held in Cameroon and with age seemingly on his side, he looks a possibility at future international tournament finals.
Djamal Aden Abdi will be the centreman when FC Platinum clash with Tanzanians Young Africans in Dar es Salaam this weekend. He will be assisted by his Djibouti countrymen Hassan Eguch Yacin, Abdillalui Mahamoud Iltireh and Souleiman Ahmed Djamal.
Bester Kalombo of Malawi will be the match commissioner.
