includes BI, EPM, EIM, HANA, Data warehouse, GRC Solutions and Mobility Solutions, while IZAZI is a  specialised IT solutions provider focused on the banking industry and is the only SAP specialised expertise partner for the banking industry in the Southern African region.

SAP South Africa distributes the range of SAP Business Solutions software. SAP is an acronym for Systems, Applications, Products — a system that provides users with a soft real-time business application that contains a user interface and is considered extremely flexible.
The partnership is anticipated to result in the delivery of best banking technologies and local support.

Speaking at a meeting with representatives of most financial institutions in the country, SAP South Africa (Pty) Ltd solution manager for SAP Business Objects Mr Charles de Jager said banks could leverage on new technologies to tap into new business opportunities.
He said through using the SAP solutions, financial institutions could get a broader perspective on their business systems.

“Statistics now show that more people have access to mobile phones compared to banking services and this presents an opportunity for the sector. As SAP we have done a lot of work with some banks in South Africa towards leveraging on mobile communication to reach out to the extensive unbanked market,” he said.
“We have, for instance, the SAP HANA platform which is a combination of powerful in-memory software and leading SAP partner hardware that can help on organisation query multiple types of data sources with real-time insights. This can help banks in identifying new opportunities such as mobile banking, but more importantly it can also help in assessing the risks that come with these opportunities.”

IZAZI head Mr Shan Naidoo said his organisation had developed different solutions for the respective financial institutions, including regulators such as central banks.
“We offer a range of pre-delivered banking solutions and templates that are affordable, rapid to deploy and show immediate return-on-investment,” he said.

In this regard, Uniswitch will assist in the deployments of these solutions and in the provision of local support services. Uniswitch is a subsidiary of Twenty Third Century Systems (Pvt) Limited, a Zimbabwean firm which is the leading SAP business solution provider in Africa outside South Africa.
