Zim, SA two countries resumes after Covid-19 break

The 42km marathon, held between South Africa and Zimbabwe, resumed between Beitbridge and Musina today after a long hiatus induced by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The race is being held as part of the twinning arrangements between Musina and Beitbridge Municipalities.

A total of 90 athletes registered for the main race, which began at Malala Business Centre and will end at Eric Louw High School.

Beitbridge town clerk, Loud Ramakgapola said they were happy to bring communities from Musina and Beitbridge together.

“We appreciate the present for the high-level dignitaries from Zimbabwe, Minister of State for Matabeleland South Albert Nguluvhe, MEC for Department of Sport, Arts and Culture Mr. Finani Jerry Maseko,” said Ramakgapola.

He said the level of excitement was high in both towns.
