FORMER Premier Soccer League (PSL) outfit Zimbabwe Saints will on Sunday welcome high-riding ZPC Hwange at White City Stadium in what promises to be a nail-biting encounter.
Chauya Chikwata are smarting from a 3-2 away defeat they were handed by Victoria Falls City last Saturday.
Saints got their goals through Keith Chikami who scored a brace while Victoria Falls City found the back of the net through Gavin Phiri and Joseph Ndlovu.
ZPC Hwange have gone on an 11-game unbeaten run and Zebra Revolution, whom they thumped 3-0 at home, are their latest victims.
The power generators are now on 33 points, 11 ahead of second-placed Casymn who will be taking on Indlovu Iyanyathela at Turk Mine on Saturday.
Last weekend, Casymn edged Bulawayo City 1-0 while Indlovu Iyanyathela walloped Victoria Falls based Mosi Rovers 3-0.
Perched on position three, Mainline will clash with Adachi FC a White City Stadium. Adachi are on number five on the log with 17 points, three adrift of Mainline.
Jordan Sinnott will travel to Victoria Falls for a date with Mosi Rovers at Chinotimba Stadium while Talen Vision entertain Victoria Falls City at Filabusi Government Primary School.
Talen Vision, who were last season’s second runners-up are 10th on the log standings with 15 points after suffering a 2-1 away defeat at the hands of Mainline in Plumtree last weekend.
“This year we aim to survive relegation and come back stronger next season. Three-quarters of our players went to other clubs. We have an age range of 17 to 21.
“Those who are above 21 years are about four. We just need to stay focused and compete to survive relegation. However, other clubs can underestimate us at their own peril,” said Talen Vision chairman Elton Sinyosi.
DRC United will square it off with yet to win Bosso90 at Hwange’s Nengasha Stadium.
Bottom placed Ajax Hotspurs have been drawn to face Bulawayo City at White City B Arena.
