THE 23-member Zimbabwe Taekwondo Academy members yesterday left for South Africa where they will take part in the inaugural Ace tournament at Boskruin Community Centre in Randburg, South Africa tomorrow.

The team travelled in two batches, with coach Evan Brown confident that they will bring home some gold medals.

“We are happy to be leaving for our first international tournament after the Covid-19 and we are hopeful that we will represent the country well.

“We have several weight categories and the athletes have been training hard ahead of the departure.

“The team is made up of 19 juniors and four seniors. We have been training hard for the past three months and I am happy that everyone is raring to go, and we are expecting to do well at the tournament,” said Brown.
