THE Old Mutual ITF Futures Series third tournament entered day two yesterday with all local players losing their singles matches at Harare Sports Club. The event will run until Saturday.

Zimbabwe’s top player in the tournament Benjamin Lock lost 4-6, 5-7 to Marc-Andrea Huesler while his young brother Courtney went down to seventh seed Matias Franco Descotte 3-6, 2-6.

However, the Lock brothers went on to win the doubles 6-2, 6-3 against the pair of Joe Cooper and Michael-Ray Pallares-Gonzalez.

They have a date against Ken Onishi and Ken Onoda of Japan in the quarter-finals this afternoon.

Benjamin, who has been competing since the first tournament held from June 20 to 26 said although he lost the singles matches yesterday, his game has improved, having won the first tournament of the three events.

Tadiwa Chinamo also lost 6-1, 4-6, 6-7(3) to John Lamble seeded eighth in a tightly contested match that could have gone either way.
