Zimbabwe has joined the rest of the world in holding the International Quds Day rally to express support for the oppressed people of Palestine. International Quds Day fell in July 1, but the rally was held belatedly held yesterday.
Speaking during the event, Palestine Committee chairperson Mr Jabulani Charlie said commemorations in solidarity with the people of Palestine were a necessity to show the country’s humane side towards those living in oppression.
Speaking during the same occasion, Friends of Palestine representative Mr Robson Musafara urged international communities to act on the matter.
“We are sending a strong voice to international communities including the United Nations to take up actions against the occupying forces,” he said.
Each year, millions of people around the world stage rallies on this day to voice their support for the Palestinian nation and repeat their call for an end to the Tel Aviv regime’s atrocities and its occupation of Palestinian territories.
