Zim U-13 beat Tanzania

after winning one match against the hosts.
Zimbabwe beat hosts Tanzania 3-1 in the last game of the day courtesy of a double from Rashwell Chikuya and another strike from Simbarashe Fabian.
In their first match, the Under-13 boys played 1-1 draw against Chrisc Voi from Rwanda after Nelson Mvulu equalised in the second half.
Rwanda had scored in the first half before Mvulu’s wonder goal.
The second match was a disappointment to the Zimbabweans who lost 4-2 to Mysa Kayole from Kenya.
The Kenyans took the lead early in the game and then doubled their advantage just before the referee blew for half time.
Calvin Ngarara of Zimbabwe pulled one back in the second half.
The match became hard for the boys in the second half when Kenya scored twice to make it 4-1.
The Zimbabweans scored their second just five minutes before the final whistle.
Zimbabwe managed to get back to their campaign on the tracks when they thrashed the hosts 3-1 in their last match for the day.
Sports and Recreation Commission manager Martin Dururu was happy with the team’s performance.
“The team held their own and I am confident that they will do the country proud and will also be able to win the other matches to come.
“We are very proud of the boys, because they only lost one match against Kenya,” said Dururu.
It was a different story for the Under-16 girls’ volleyball side who lost all their matches.
The girls lost 1-2 to Chrisc of Kenya and 0-2 to Chrisc Mbale from Uganda.
