Zim U-14 for South Africa cricket festival

The festival, which is expected to kick off this weekend in Boland South Africa and will see the provinces top teams taking part will run from December 9 to 13.

Mutendera said the team had been doing well during their training session and had been working on their fielding.

“The team is excellent, they had problems in the fielding but am glad that they have greatly improved.
“We do not have any challenges in batting and the bowling is good.

“The festival will be good for us to attend because the players get exposed to competitive cricket at an early age.

“The other good thing about the festival is that the players get an opportunity to play the longer version of the game which is called declaration cricket that plays a big role in development.

“It helps our development of test cricketers at the age of 13. Our bowling is looking sharp with Robert Chiminya and Blessed Mutandwa bowling fast and accurate.

“I am confident that the batting will be properly handled by Richard Matewa, Alistar Frost and Alvin Charadza,”said Mutendera.

Zimbabwe’s first match will be against the Western Province on Sunday before they take on KwaZulu Natal.

The festival will have two declarations cricket, two Twenty-20 and as many 50 overs matches.

Mason Chikowero, Robert Chiminya, Alvin Chiradza, Graham Curtis, Alistar Frost,. Taun Harrison , Munyaradzi Madhombiro, Richard Matewa, Blessed Mtandwa, Tinashe Nenhuzi, Liam Roche, Ruhul Vaghmaria and Damian White.
