Zimbabwe has recently revealed over 200 investment opportunities through its branding and marketing efforts in sports, particularly highlighted during the ongoing T10 tournament.
The initiative is part of the “Zimbabwe Open for Business” mantra, which is currently gaining global attention.
The T10 tournament, held in Abu Dhabi and now moving to Sri Lanka, with future events planned in the USA and India, is a strategic platform for positioning Zimbabwe on the international stage.
This has attracted interest from various global media outlets eager to engage with President Mnangagwa.
Shaji Ul Mulk, Chairman of T Ten Global Sports, shared insights from Sri Lanka, noting that Zimbabwe has successfully captured international attention.
“We have received more than 200 investment inquiries, which we are processing with Dr Paul Tungwarara to facilitate investor visits to Zimbabwe. This programme has proven highly successful.”
Mr Mulk highlighted that the rapid global recognition of Zimbabwe’s potential spans various industries, including mining, agriculture, IT, and manufacturing.
He anticipates increased delegations visiting Zimbabwe next year as a result of this initiative.
Furthermore, he emphasized the tournament’s role in promoting Zimbabwe as a conducive business environment.
“Even some top Indian channels now want to cover Zimbabwe and meet the President, showcasing significant traction and benefits for the nation,” he added.
The branding for “Zimbabwe Open for Business” has been featured on several teams in Sri Lanka, amplifying its visibility across approximately 100 countries.
Dr Tungwarara, special advisor to the President, reaffirmed Zimbabwe’s commitment to leveraging international platforms to showcase its vast economic potential.
“Our gratitude goes to His Excellency President Dr Mnangagwa for enabling us to enhance Zimbabwe’s international profile and economic opportunities. The influx of investment inquiries confirms that the country is on the right path,” he said.
