Zimbabwe and Zambia have signed six Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) at the inaugural Zimbabwe-Zambia Bi-National Commission in Harare today.
Among the agreements was the MoU on youth affairs and empowerment, signed by Zimbabwe’s Minister of Youth Empowerment, Development and Vocational Training, Tino Machakaire, and Zambia’s Foreign Affairs Minister Mulambo Haimbe.

The MoU is set to boost cooperation between young people in both countries through skills exchange, joint programmes and expanded opportunities for youth-led initiatives.
Another MoU on immigration and international cooperation aims to streamline the movement of people and enhance coordination on regional and global engagements, reflecting the shared social and economic interests of the neighbouring states.

Agriculture, a backbone for both economies, also received significant focus.
An MoU signed by Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development Minister Anxious Masuka covers crop production for local and export markets, collaborative agricultural research and the strengthening of agro-processing capabilities.

The agreement is expected to boost food security, open more competitive markets for farmers, and enhance cross-border trade in agricultural products.
