Zimbabwe-Belarus Business Forum strengthens economic ties

The third Zimbabwe-Belarus Business Forum is on in Harare today with Vice President Constantino Chiwenga, who was standing in on behalf of President Mnangagwa, officially opening the event at the Harare International Conference Centre.

 

The Belarus delegation is led by the country’s Deputy Minister of Industry, Mr Dmtry Haritonchik and will also attend the Joint Permanent Commission on Cooperation meeting that will also begin today.

During the official opening ceremony bus manufacturer, AVM signed an MoU with Minsk Automobile for the joint manufacturing of buses while the City of Mutare signed another MoU for the supply of fire-fighting equipment.

Relations between Zimbabwe and Belarus have been growing since the coming of the Second Republic with the Eurasian country supplying agricultural, mining and fire-fighting equipment.

President Mnangagwa and his counterpart, Aleksandr Lukashenko have also exchanged reciprocal State visits to each other.
