All is set for the Zimbabwe Colour Run tomorrow at Borrowdale Race Course where thousands of people are expected to take part. The Colour Run event is dedicated to people from different age groups with everyone expected to be wearing a white t-shirt.

Show organiser Maurice Levy said more than 5 000 have confirmed their participation.

“We are happy that many sponsors this year have chipped in and everyone is catered for. This will be ideal for families as well and it’s an opportunity to have fun. Last year people had the most amazing time and this year is bigger and better. Just like the norm, attendees will get t-shirts and their bags at the entrance,” he said.

He said fans will be treated to some after show party courtesy of live local and regional artists.

“We have some South African DJs who will join our local ones for some turntables. There are some African group dancers and jembe drummers who will also take part. Again apart from the music and dance, there is also ‘Airforce parachute’ display just like what we did at the Airshow. Tinashe Makura will also perform,” he said.

Levy said Cape Town based talented Blair Taberer is expected to perform with Charles Summerfield who is the voice of Colour Run expected to grace the event. He said there is a Neon party scheduled for later in the night.

“We have a Neon festival which will be the largest ‘glow-in-the-dark’ festival in the country. The thrust is to provide the best day and night time fun,” he said.

Last year we had pretty much over 6 000 people and from our online and physical ticket sales so far we estimate that we might have as many as 10 000 people coming through and we are ready for them.”

Levy said parents should not worry about their children as there is a kiddies’ zone at the end of the festival and security will be watching over them.

“This zone has all the amazing inflatables and entertainment they can dream of. Parents should not be worried but rather be relaxed and enjoy the run or walk while listening to our great live performers,” he said.

He highlighted that no children will be allowed at the Neon Party.
