Zimbabwe Fashion Week extravaganza starts today

life today amid high expectations that it will boost the designing industry.
The fashion extravaganza will see designers from all over Zimbabwe exhibiting their apparels.
To add glamour to the event renowned designers Roberta Wagner and Nadege Cezette from Germany and France respectively will be part of the week-long event.
Apart from showcasing their works, the two artists will also conduct a workshop to impart their knowledge to upcoming and aspiring fashion designers.
The show will also see top three young designers winning sewing machines, Apple iPods and scholarships to study fashion and designing at Studio 05 in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Show organiser and director of the Zimbabwe Fashion week Priscilla Chigariro said that show was meant to provide a platform for artistes to showcase their designs to the world.
“The aim of the show is to ensure that designers get an opportunity to market their apparels to the people and also to make that the design industry keep up with trends worldwide,” Chigariro said.
This year’s show will be running under the theme “Environmental Awareness: Think and live Green” and will see designers from all over Zimbabwe gracing the event and showcasing their art works which have been made from materials that are environment friendly.
She urged fashionistas to come in their numbers and support the event.
“I urge fashion lovers to come and be part of the show and see designing being taken to another level,” she said.
