ZIMBABWE goes into the second round of the 2024 All Africa Golf Team Championship, this morning, sitting in fourth place following mixed fortunes on the opening round at Bulawayo Golf Club yesterday.
The Michael Wallace captained Zimbabwe team had an overnight score of four-over-par-220, a massive 11 shots behind leaders South Africa on seven-under-par-209.
In second place, there is Zambia on two-under-par-214 followed by Uganda on one-over-par 217.
Vincent Chidambazina was the pick of the Zimbabwean golfers carding a brilliant two-under-par-70.
He is tied for fifth on the individual leaderboard with the South African duo of Astin Arthur and Jordan Burnand and Joseph Cwinyaai from Uganda.
Wallace carded a round of two-over-par-74 and is tied for 16th position with Alexandre Illien (Gabon), and Folindo Rodrick (Malawi).
Keegan Shutt goes into the second round with a score of four-over-par-76 while Kelvin Muchenje carded five-over-par-77.
Issa Amr Abou Elela of Egypt leads the individual leaderboard after carding an impressive four-under-par-68.
Chidambazina is set to tee off, for the second round, at 09.50am with Julien Planel (Mauritius) and Nathi Tsabedze (Eswatini).
Wallace will tee off at 10am with Ludovic Bax de Keating (Mauritius) and Maqhawe Maziya (Eswatini).
Next off the tee will be Keegan Shutt at 10.10am alongside Rakesh Channoo (Mauritius) and Khanya Nhlengethwa (Eswatini).
The last group teeing off 10.25am has Muchenje and Mongi Masuku (Eswatini).
