ZIMBABWE will this weekend host its first-ever FIFG 250 Points Zimbabwe FootGolf Open Tournament, a landmark event on the national FootGolf calendar.
The prestigious 36-hole competition will start tomorrow (Saturday) at Falcon Golf Club, Hatfield, Harare.
The tournament is expected to attract participants from across Zimbabwe, and will provide local players with an opportunity to earn valuable international ranking points, while showcasing the rapid growth of FootGolf in the country.
Tournament director, Vanessa Munyuki, highlighted Zimbabwe’s growing reputation on the international FootGolf stage.
“Zimbabwe is currently ranked the number one nation in the world in Ladies FootGolf among more than 70 participating countries, ahead of Russia, Slovenia and Italy. This achievement demonstrates the tremendous progress our athletes have made and the bright future of the sport in Zimbabwe,” she said.
To date, over 50 players and officials have registered for the tournament.
Organisers are encouraging aspiring FootGolfers, sports enthusiasts, families, and members of the public to attend and witness the exciting combination of football skills and golf strategy that defines the sport.

Additionally, it forms part of the qualification pathway for the African FootGolf Championships, which Zimbabwe will host in Victoria Falls in November.

The senior field will feature some of Zimbabwe’s top FootGolfers, including Beauty Mushave (Zimbabwe Number One), Qhubekani Mdlelani, Washington Moyo, Beauty Diniwe, Senator Eleven Kambizi, Stanslous Nyachowe, and several other leading competitors.
