ZIMBABWE cricket (ZC) have announced a 16-man squad for the two-match One Day International (ODI) series against Sri Lanka starting ON Friday at Harare Sports Club.

Captained by Craig Ervine, the squad sees the return of Brendan Taylor who will be making his first ODI appearance since September 2021 when he retired, a few months before he was handed a three and a half year ban for breaching the ICC anti-corruption code.
Clive Madande, Tony Munyonga, Bradley Evans and uncapped fast bowler Ernest Masuku have also been included in the squad.
This series will be Zimbabwe’s first one-day outing in six months having last played 50-over cricket against Ireland in Harare, in February. The Chevrons won that three-match series 2-1, and since then, have been playing Tests and T20Is.
Zimbabwe’s last ODI meeting with Sri Lanka was in January last year.
With the series opener scheduled for Friday, the second match is penciled in for Sunday. The two ODIs will be followed by three T20Is, at the same venue.
