Zimbabwe officials for Kenya tournament

NAIROBI. — Zimbabwe’s top sevens rugby officials have been selected commissioners ahead of Kenya’s Safaricom Sevens Rugby set for next week in Kasarani.
The duo of Mudiwa Mundawarara and Bongani Zamchiya, who will perform roles of citing commissioner and judicial officer, will oversee the this international sevens rugby tournament running from September 26-28.
The tournament had since attracted nine international match officials drawn from Europe, South America and Africa.

The other international sevens rugby officials comprise Argentina’s Deluca Pablo, Spain’s Ibbareta Inigo, New Zealand’s Steve Piacun, England’s duo of Matthew Gareth and David Guerin.

A panel of referees from Africa include South Africa’s Jaco Kotze and Uganda’s Paul Ojambo.
The Safaricom Sevens Rugby is the biggest sporting event in East Africa.

It has attracted international teams such as the Sharks, Western Province, Argentina, Spain, Welsh Warriors, Germany, Samurai International Invitational, Uganda, Auckland Metro and Suzuki Wailers. — CAJ News
