Positioning itself as a prime destination for tourism investment, Zimbabwe is participating at the inaugural United Arab Emirates (UAE)–Africa Tourism Investment Summit 2025 in Dubai, UAE.
Running under the theme “Tourism at the Heart of Africa’s Growth Agenda,” the Summit brings together over 350 delegates from 20 African countries and the UAE, including Ministers, investors and private sector leaders to explore transformative partnerships for Africa’s tourism growth.
Led by Deputy Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry Tongai Mnangagwa, accompanied by officials from the Ministry, Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA), Mosi-oa-Tunya Development Company and the Zimbabwe-UAE Embassy, the delegation is highlighting the Zimbabwe’s vast tourism investment potential and sustainable development initiatives.
In an update the Ministry of Tourism and Hospitality Industry said this follows Zimbabwe’s recent recognition by Forbes Magazine as the World’s Number One Destination to Visit in 2025, a testament to the country’s rising global tourism appeal and renewed investor confidence.
“During a high-level Ministerial Roundtable chaired by H.E. Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri UAE Minister of Economy and Tourism, Deputy Minister Mnangagwa presented Zimbabwe’s Tourism Cluster Approach, which integrates multiple sectors in advancing Tourism-led growth.”
With the UAE reaffirming its commitment to Africa through over $110 billion in investments since 2019, the Summit marks a new era of UAE–Africa cooperation.
The Summit emphasized that Africa’s tourism potential is vast but largely untapped. With increased investments and stronger partnerships, African countries can see improvements in their tourism-related services. From better hotels and resorts to enhanced transportation and connectivity, these developments will open doors to new destinations and experiences for travellers from around the world.
